The meaning of intercession at Easter Time

As the Christian community begins its “holiest” time of year in the period of Easter, it is good to remember that intercession is at the heart of all that Easter means. The wonder of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection is a reflection of Jesus standing in the gap for us. Instead of us paying the price for our sin, He has taken it already. And even on the cross, Jesus prayed for those around him.
This Easter season we need to be reminded that Christ is ever interceding, even today. How powerful a truth this is. And what a privilege that we can intercede with Him, knowing that God’s heart is for the Kuwaiti people and knowing that we are called to join God in this important work.
From the perspective of heaven, this Easter should be one of great rejoicing as our prayers and intercession pours out for Kuwait and as God answers by revealing Himself to many. Let us pray and believe it, because He lives!
