Two young Iranian Christian women in notorious Evin Prison
Please pray >>>
“On March 5th 2009 two Iranian Christian women, Miss Marzieh Amirizadeh Esmaeilabad (30), and Miss Maryam Rustampoor (27), were arrested by the Iranian security forces, according to reports received by FCNN. Their only crime is that they are committed Christians who follow the teachings of Jesus. They are being unfairly labeled as ‘anti-government activists’, because of the hostility of the government towards practicing Christians.
Their shared apartment was searched and personal belongings confiscated. They were hand-cuffed and first taken to the Police and Security Station 137 in Gysha, West of Tehran for interrogation. Later they were taken to Vozara Detention Centre. Then they were taken to the Branch 2 of the National Security Section of the Revolutionary Court. Afterwards, several sessions of interrogation took place. Finally, on March 18th, after appearing at the Revolutionary Court, they were sent to the notorious Evin Prison where they are being held without charge.
They have been told they could be freed on a bail of US$400,000. This excessive bail level is unrealistic and is designed to intimidate and make the release impossible. The families have subsequently been told on several occasions a judge is not available to discuss the case.
Both women are allowed just a one minute telephone call every day to their immediate families. Both are unwell and in need of urgent medical attention. During their last call on March 28 Marzieh said that she was suffering from an infection and high fever. She said ‘I am dying’.
There has been a noted increase in government intimidation of the Christians. Last year they were over 50 known cases of arrests and imprisonment. They were some cases of torture.
Iranian Christian leaders from around the world are calling for the immediate and unconditional release of Marzieh and Maryam.
We ask world governments to put pressure on Iran to ensure freedom of religion.
Prayers are being offered for their safe release. We ask Christians around the globe to continue to pray.
Thank you,

Hello!
Dear Brother/Sister in Christ!
Calvary Greetings from Rev. Pervaiz khokhar!
It is a great blessing writing you from Pakistan. I hope all is well with you this moment and pray that this email meet you well in Christ. Please beloved in the Lord, reply me urgently as you finish reading this email. It’s always good to know that we can pray each other. Our God has all power! There isn’t anything too hard for Him. Because God is all powerful, we must have faith in Him. We are sharing with you urgent prayer request for two Iranian Young Christian women & Nation of Pakistan is facing very difficult time. We know that at the moment Pakistani Nation is facing many Suicide Bombing, Terrorists Attack and financial crisis problems and challenge. Now days in Pakistan Al-Quida & Taliban are much busy suicide bombing attacks and fights between Al-Quida & Taliban & Pakistan Security forces, Army etc.
The chief of the Pakistani Taliban, Baitullah Mehsud, has told the BBC his group was behind Monday’s deadly attack on a police academy in Lahore. He has also claimed responsibility for two other recent deadly attacks. Baitullah Mehsud said the attacks would continue “until the Pakistan government stops supporting the Americans. Baitullah Mehsud is the supreme commander of the Tehrik-e-Taleban Pakistan group (Movement of Taliban in Pakistan). He operates out of a stronghold in the Pakistani tribal region of South Waziristan. Speaking to the BBC by phone, he also claimed responsibility for two other attacks:-
1. A suicide attack on a security convoy, also on Monday, near the town of Bannu in North West Frontier Province, which killed seven security personnel.
2. An attack on the offices of a police station in Islamabad on 25 March. But he denied responsibility for the bombing of a mosque in north-west Pakistan on 27 March, in which at least 50 people died. Different Taliban factions in the border region, including Baitullah Mehsud’s, have joined forces in readiness to confront the planned American troop increase in Afghanistan.
Do you at currently Taliban & Al-Qaeda is much active and preparing suicide bombing attack in many parts of the Pakistan. In Pakistan 14000 denomination and 200000 Taliban students learning under studying in terrorists, suicide bombing attack training. We briefing in Swat district, NWFP, South Waziristan and near border area of the Afghanistan-Pakistan. This is the chilling moment a 17-year-old Pakistani girl is punished in a horrific flogging by Taliban militants for being seen with a man who is not her husband. The girl, who received 37 lashes at the hands of her brother and Taliban forces, has sent shockwaves throughout the once stable Swat Valley region. The mobile phone footage shows the girl pinned down by two men while a third whips her as she begs for mercy. ‘Please stop it,’ the girl begs as the men, one of whom is believed to be her brother, continue their sickening act.
The Swat-based Taliban termed the video showing a 17-year-old girl being flogged by militants a conspiracy to sabotage the February 16 peace deal. The gory incident occured in Kala Killay area of the Kabal Tehsil where the Taliban publicly lashed a girl for stepping out of house with a man, who was not her relative. He insisted that the incident happened before the provincial government’s peace agreement with the Tanzim Nifaz Shariat-i-Muhammadi (TNSM) in the Malakand division. He argued that some elements were presenting it as a fresh incident to sabotage the peace deal.
Muslim Khan said the incident happened nine months ago. At the same time, he defended the Taliban decision of lashing the girl, saying she was punished for living for three years with her father-in-law instead of her husband. Khan defended the Taliban for punishing the girl, but objected to the public lashing and said inquiry would be conducted into the incident as to why the girl was brought before the public for punishment instead of awarding the sentence inside a room. Muslim Khan claimed the two men, who gripped the hands and legs of the girl while being lashed by a bearded and turbaned Taliban, were her relatives. He said the local Taliban awarded the punishment of 40 lashes to the girl after getting verdict from a Mufti, or religious scholar, at a time when the military operation was being conducted in Swat and Qazi courts hadn’t been set up. News agency, he denounced the inhuman incident of lashing a 17-year-old girl in public and reiterated to investigate the incident along with the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). We want to inform you that Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan punishment of a 17-year-old girl with out of law.
The Taliban in Swat awarded punishment of public flogging about 25 times to men and twice to women during the past two years as they consolidated their control in the valley and established their own courts. The videotape shown on television and displayed on websites Friday wasn’t the only time that a woman was publicly canned by the Swati Taliban. However, no videotape of the other incident, which took place on October 20, 2008, is available in which a woman and her father-in-law were flogged in Ser-Taligram village near Manglawar in Charbagh tehsil. The woman had been divorced by her husband but her father-in-law kept her in his house. The two were accused by the Taliban of having illicit relations. Villagers said the man was whipped 50 times while the woman was given 30 lashes.
The canning of the 17-year-old girl, who according to certain accounts was 16, shown by television channels on Friday was reportedly filmed by someone with a mobile phone. A reporter of a private TV channel in Swat said the two-minute footage was in their possession for sometime and was being transferred to a large number of people through cell phones. “To be honest, we didn’t want to send it to our TV channels for use due to fear of Taliban and also on account of concern that this would bring a bad name to Swat and endanger the peace accord,” he said while requesting anonymity. The girl who was publicly canned in Kala Killay village in Kabal tehsil was reportedly named Chand. An Indian TV channel coined a couplet while reporting the incident on Friday by figuratively referring to Chand, which is the Urdu word for the moon. The boy, who like the girl was also lashed 30 times, was named Adalat Khan, son of Muslim Khan.
Incidentally, the Taliban spokesman in Swat who defended the public flogging in several interviews on Friday is also named Muslim Khan. He apparently mixed up the two incidents of public lashing of women in Swat on Taliban orders by saying that the girl videotaped during her canning was convicted of having illicit relations with her father-in-law. That incident happened in Ser-Taligram village in Charbagh tehsil while the videotape is of the girl belonging to Kala Killay in Kabal area. One of the stories making the rounds in Swat was that a Taliban saw the accused, Adalat Khan, who was an electrician by profession, leaving the home of the girl, Chand. He called other Taliban and accused the two of committing adultery. The boy defended himself by arguing that he was asked to fix some electrical appliances in the girl’s house. The Taliban then went ahead with the punishment of 30 lashes awarded to both the boy and the girl. Subsequently, as the story goes the Taliban got the two to marry and even cooked rice to hold a feast for celebrating the occasion.
It is possible that this story is cooked up or is one of the many being told and retold. But it is a fact that Taliban courts punished the two women and about 25 men by lashing them in public. Besides, drug addicts were routinely canned wherever they were found taking drugs. Among the widely quoted cases, Taliban publicly canned two butchers in Ningolay village for selling meat of dead animals. They also awarded lashes to two men in the same village for committing unnatural sexual offences. Two Taliban fighters were also publicly whipped 40 times each in Bar Thana village in Matta tehsil after being found guilty by a Shariah court for extorting Rs 360,000 from a goldsmith hailing from Chupriyal village. A Taliban commander known as Khairo was also involved in the same crime as he was the one who imposed the Rs 360,000 fine on the goldsmith after accusing him of running a propaganda campaign against the Taliban. When the Taliban leadership came to know about the incident, they asked the goldsmith to identify the three Taliban who had extorted the money from him. Subsequently, the two Taliban foots-soldiers were lashed in public and their commander, Khairo, was publicly executed in Sinpoora, the village of former provincial minister and JUI-F leader Qari Mahmood, near Matta.
We know that at present all servants of God have a special burden and affinity for God’s special land of Pakistan & Iran. Truly Pakistan & Iran is one of prayer. It is high honor to be able to pray for the peace of Pakistan & Iran. We have been waking the streets in prayer and waking in the night hours to intercede for the people. We serve as (Watchman) for city, praying for our savior’s return. We also alert the body of Christ to particular prayer needs concerning Pakistan & Iran. (Is 62:6-7). I pray to God will give you peace in your hearts, physical, spiritual energy to continue your hard work to fulfill your ministry, family.
